Everyone is concerned about teacher quality. Learning how to evaluate teachers accurately and fairly, however, is a lot like learning French. Marx (Groucho) said you can do it in 10 easy lessons or five hard ones. Our collective sense of urgency about teacher quality argues for taking the difficult but potentially quicker way out. Here are five lessons that challenge even the most able among us.
