Using Your School Calendar for Positive Press

Marked by specific seasons that unfold year after year with comforting predictability, school calendars have plenty of built-in public relations opportunities.

From August’s school supply drives to June’s valedictorians and scholarship winners, each school season can serve as the platform for telling public education’s story.

The key is to strategically leverage these opportunities by researching and packaging stories in a way that makes it easy for news reporters to see, hear, touch, taste, and experience what really is happening in the nation’s public schools.
