Common Core Myths

Most states have adopted the Common Core State Standards. But while the Common Core’s intent is to provide more consistent educational opportunities for students, the reality is that the implementation of the standards is wildly different from one state to the next.
Some differences actually are good, as local districts surely are the source of essential educational innovations. But many other variations in the implementation appear to be based on myths that this article will challenge.
